Sammlers are a species of Robocons that appear as enemies in the Nest of Oblivion.
They collect Robonium that drops from other enemies, preventing the player from collecting them.
They utilize the Robonium they collect to create various traps.
This indirect warfare is how they deal damage to the player, as they on their own aren't capable of dealing contact damage or shooting projectiles.

Spawning

Sammlers are naturally attracted to Robonium.
If the player leaves too much Robonium on the ground without collecting, this will increase the spawn rate of Sammlers.

For each enemy spawned, the chance of it being a Sammler is calculated as such:

Before Level 10: 0.8% * Minimum( r / ( (level + 9) * luck), 1) + 0.2%

After Level 10: 0.8% * Minimum( r / (18*luck), 1) + 0.2%

with the parameters being:

  • r = The Number of Robonium on the ground
  • level = Current level of player
  • luck = Player's luck modifier, increased using Fortune Magnet

Behavior

Movement

Unlike other Oblicons, Sammlers possess a great ability at collecting and utilizing Robonium created by other Robocons.
If there is any Robonium on the ground, they will target collecting it.
If there are no Robonium available for them to collect, they will be attracted to an enemy they see as being dangerous for the player.

Attacks

A Sammler on its own cannot deal contact damage and cannot shoot projectiles.
While this miserable creature isn't capable of damaging the player like that, they are capable of utilizing various indirect strategies that are cunningly dangerous.
Sammler has 2 types of attacks, ones that are utilized when they are close to the player and ones where they are not.

For each type of attack, a Sammler uses up 9 Robonium from what their deposit.
As Sammlers are creatures not necessarily bound by Obscura, they can collect Robonium in other parts of the Holoverse.
Due to this, they can start with a Robonium amount between 0 and 13.

Mode 1

In this mode, there are 2 types of explosion-like attacks. Before the explosions take place, a Sammler charges the attack, which also telegraphs the player that the attack is coming. The first explosion has a yellowish charge and confuses the player, turning their screen upside-down. The second explosion has a green charge and poisons the player, dealing 45 base damage per second.

For both attacks to succeed, the Sammler must be really close to the player.

Mode 2

If the Sammler is slightly far away from the player, they will spawn Sammler Golems or drop toxic goo on the ground that deals 120 base damage once.

Rewards

Sammler drops the amount of Robonium they have in their deposit in the form of pickups. Although they will drop most of it as Robonium, there is a chance that they will take the form of other pickups, such as Vision's Hearts. Rarely, these will be Odatan flamethrowers and Sammlers are the only enemy type in the game that drops Odatan.

Balbal Information

  • Requires 1 Kill: This shameless creature is attracted to Robonium and pops up wherever there is some in order to collect it.
  • Requires 27 Kills: During confrontations between Vision and Oblicons, Sammlers try to collect as much profit as possible, avoiding direct engagament.
  • Requires 729 Kills: When there is no Robonium to collect, they hide behind large enemies. Whether they do this for defense, supporting the enemy, or for collecting their Robonium, is unkown.
